Senate Health Committee Democrats, led by Senators Warren (D-MA), Murray (D-WA), and others released a bill to boost funding for the NIH and FDA. The Senate Committee plans to advance other medical innovation legislation this week in response to to the House’s 21st Century Cures Act, passed last fall. Meanwhile, House and Senate appropriations chairmen, Representative Tom Cole (R-OK) and Senator Roy Blunt (R-MO), promised to boost the NIH budget by at least $1 billion in FY2017.
